Our first camping trip! We had fun, regardless of wet wood, very little sleep and wild kids (nothing new there!). The kids really loved it :) They had fun at the pool, playing at the arcade, bouncing in the bounce house, building w/ rocks on our campsite, riding bikes, hiking, playing at the beach, eating marshmallows, and playing on the playground (there was a huge wooden monster truck that the kids loved!). One of our most memorable moments was trying to get to sleep while a band played at the rec center, and some "seasonals" sang terrible karaoke - until 11pm!! Its always something :) I also loved watching Eben ride around and just seeing the kids play outside all weekend. Good memories. I think we'll make it an annual thing, maybe even a couple times during the summer......we'll have to see what Jared thinks about that :)
I've included lots of pics. One is of the kids at home playing dress up. They had a great time! Most are from camping, but I've also included one of my latest hair cut. My goal months ago was to wait until my birthday, and I did it!! Of course I cut it right on my birthday, but still - I made it :)
Right now I'm enjoying a peaceful house :) This morning is my kid swap day with one of my friends. She's had them since about 8:30, and I'll pick them up in an hr. It has been so nice!! I've exercised, showered, cleaned, and will even enjoy a peaceful lunch -all about me!- watching tv. No idea what I'll watch, but just the fact that I can do that, and not be disturbed is great :) I'm watching another friend's kids tomorrow morning. I think my friend (tomorrow's kids) and i are going to keep this up throughout the school year. Her husband is heading out to sea in Oct, so she'll definitely need some time alone. Well, I better scoot and start my lunch. Have a great day everybody!!
Lori, you amaze me how well you cut your hair! I really like the new hair cut :)
ReplyDeleteSo, some singing keeping you up at night. I can think of worse sounds to keep you up while camping... :)
